Rattray Community Garden has been created in the walled garden at Mount Ericht House off Balmoral Road in Rattray.
The volunteers are a very active group who have turned the space into a welcoming, relaxing space that is a haven for biodiversity and a productive vegetable garden with beautiful flowers and fruit trees.
The garden offers local residents and community groups an opportunity to enjoy activities together, benefitting health and wellbeing and reducing social isolation, as well as helping to develop gardening and food producing skills.
Purchased for the town in 2021 by Blairgowrie and Rattray Development Trust with support from the Scottish Land Fund, the garden had for a number of years been home to award-winning environmental group Blairgowrie and Rattray in Bloom, which still uses the space.
